Airbus has announced that it has received a significant order from Taiwan’s EVA Air for the purchase of 18 A350-1000 and 15 A321neo aircraft. The undisclosed sum of this firm order solidifies EVA Air as the latest global carrier to choose the A350-1000 for their long-haul needs.
EVA Air’s decision to purchase the A321neo also marks their first direct acquisition of this aircraft model. Airbus expressed their enthusiasm for working closely with the airline as they prepare to introduce their new fleet.
In addition to meeting the airline’s requirements, these aircraft also contribute to EVA Air’s sustainability goals by providing substantial reductions in carbon emissions. Clay Sun, President of EVA Air, emphasized the importance of this environmental aspect.
With a passenger capacity of 410, the A350-1000 offers a spacious and comfortable experience for travelers. On the other hand, the A321neo belongs to the A320neo Family and incorporates advanced features such as new-generation engines, Sharklet wing-tip extensions, and cabin-efficiency enhancements. These technological advancements together result in an impressive 20% fuel savings, according to Airbus.
This news comes as a significant milestone for both Airbus and EVA Air, further strengthening their partnership and reinforcing Airbus’s position in the global aviation market.
